THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX: THE FOOD PACKAGING PROJECT
Students explore food issues and visual communication through the analysis and creation of package design. Processes include traditional research methods, collaborative exercises, digital design (can also be drawing/painting), paper sculpture, and site-specific installation. This project grew out of action research curriculum for my graduate thesis, and has been iterated many times with students in grades 7-12. This is a challenging in-depth project that many students have cited as their most memorable from the course.
